Motion reference guide

Kling motion control.

Give your character a movement reference. Use an image to set the appearance and a video to guide the action, then check how the character moves through the scene.

Availability in Drizzle: the guided motion-control workflow is currently paused. This is a reference guide, not an active generator. Drizzle is independent of Kling AI.

Decide what comes from each reference.

Keep appearance and performance separate in your brief. The image defines who appears; the video guides how they move.

Appearance reference

The character image sets the look.

Start with a clear image of the character you want to animate. Keep the face and the parts of the body that need to move visible. For clothing creative, use an image that shows the actual garment details you need to preserve.

Movement reference

The video shows the performance.

Choose a reference clip with a readable action: a small turn, a gesture, or a short walk. The motion reference guides movement; it does not replace the character image or prove the accuracy of a product.

Kling documents motion control in its official user guide. Check that guide and the tool you use for current model versions, supported inputs, and limits.

Study the movement

Look past the opening frame.

Use these existing Drizzle showcase clips to study framing and character movement. They are not a new Kling benchmark or a documented run of the instructions on this page.

Movement reference showcase

Notice the camera distance and where the body stays visible as the subject moves.

Character video showcase

Follow the garment through the movement. Pause at the closer crop to inspect edges, fabric, and hands.

Start with one action you can review.

Match the starting pose and framing.

A full-body walk reference asks more of a tightly cropped portrait than a small head turn does. Choose references that give the model enough visible information for the intended action.

Check the middle and the finish.

Pause where hands cross the body, the subject turns, or the garment leaves view. Check identity and product details at those moments, then watch the complete clip at normal speed.

Kling motion-control questions.

What is Kling motion control?

Kling motion control uses a character image and a driving video to guide character movement in a generated clip. Kling’s official guide describes control over movement and facial expressions. The result still needs review for identity, motion, and visual consistency.

How is motion control different from image-to-video?

In an ordinary image-to-video workflow, you typically describe the movement in a prompt. Motion control adds a video reference that demonstrates the performance. It is useful when a gesture or sequence is easier to show than to describe.

Can I generate a Kling motion-control video in Drizzle now?

No. The guided motion-control workflow is currently paused in Drizzle. This page explains the technique and inputs; it does not offer an active motion-control generator. You can use Drizzle for product images and prompt-led short videos, or consult Kling’s official guide for its current offering.

Can I use a reference with someone else in it?

Use footage you own or have permission to use. Permission to use a movement reference does not automatically include permission to reuse a person’s face, voice, or endorsement.

Will it keep clothing and faces exactly the same?

Do not assume exact preservation. Watch for changes in facial features, garment patterns, seams, and hand contact, especially during turns or occlusion. A convincing first frame does not establish consistency through the rest of the clip.

How much does Kling motion control cost?

Check the current price and input limits in the service you plan to use. Drizzle is not offering motion-control generation through this page, so its general video prices should not be treated as a quote for this workflow.
