The product advertising glossary

What is Three-second view rate?

Three-second view rate measures qualifying three-second video views against a stated denominator, often impressions. A report must identify its denominator and platform definition.

A practical example

If a campaign has 10,000 impressions and 2,000 qualifying three-second views, a views-per-impression calculation gives 20%.

How to use it

Do not compare that number directly with a view rate calculated from video starts. Keep placement, video length, and measurement rules consistent.

Put it in a creative brief

Write down the event, asset, or workflow you mean by Three-second view rate before sharing a brief or report. For campaign measurements, keep the source and reporting window with the number. For creative work, attach an example so the team can assess the same thing.
