Keep Meta video-variant tests readable as formats change

Build the test around your question and the controls available in the current account. Do not rely on an old format name to define what viewers actually receive.
Record the current setup
Write down the objective, assets, placements, audience approach, attribution settings, and enabled creative automation. Meta’s Reels advertising page is a starting point for the current format context; confirm the specific controls in your account.
This guide does not assert that a particular flexible-format feature has been removed or replaced for every advertiser. Rollouts and account options can differ.
Separate a concept test from automated combinations
If the question is whether a pocket reveal beats a styling scene, keep the offer and destination consistent and label those concepts clearly. If the platform can combine or transform assets, record that fact and inspect the available previews.
A result from several automatically assembled combinations should not be described as proof that one untouched source video caused the outcome.
Use a decision log alongside the report
Keep the input files, naming scheme, settings, spend, observation window, and purchase economics with the result. Note any material edits during the test. Review tracking and delivery changes before attributing a difference to AI generation quality.
