Google Ads AI disclosures: distinguish the different rules

Google’s AI transparency features and its synthetic-content rules for election advertising address different situations. Check which rule applies to the campaign you are actually running.

Separate product labels from election requirements

Google’s AI labels announcement describes disclosures in My Ad Center for ads created with its generative advertising tools. Its political content policy separately addresses synthetic or digitally altered content in election ads.

Do not turn the election-specific rule into an unsupported claim that every ordinary ecommerce asset follows exactly the same disclosure process.

Review the complete asset and destination

For a product campaign, check the applicable ad policies, tool-generated labels, account settings, and the market where the ad runs. Keep the source history and final preview. Verify that product features, price, and offer conditions match the destination.

Generated presenters and voices still need appropriate permissions and truthful scripts. An automatic label does not establish rights to a face, music track, or claim.

Check each format before launch

A Shorts asset and a landscape placement can show captions and disclosures differently. Preview both rather than relying on a single export. Keep a record of any automated changes made during ad creation.

See the Shorts and Demand Gen guide. This article is general information reviewed September 15, 2026, not a campaign-specific legal approval.
