Adapt product creative for YouTube Shorts and Demand Gen

Build the product story once, then compose versions for the placements you intend to use. A crop change can alter both the explanation and the visibility of important text.

Choose the actual campaign surfaces

Google’s Demand Gen creative guide discusses its visual placements, including YouTube Shorts, and points advertisers to current asset specifications. Confirm your campaign’s enabled surfaces and accepted asset combinations.

Do not assume one vertical export will appear unchanged in every context. Keep the source layout editable.

Make the first frame explain the product

Use a clear item, visible feature, and brief opening line. Leave room for interface overlays and readable captions. For a landscape version, recompose the product and supporting text rather than stretching or automatically cropping the vertical frame.

Review voice, music permissions, product details, and the connection between the opening promise and landing page. A generated presenter should not imply a fabricated customer experience.

Keep format changes visible in the test record

Record which assets and automated creative settings were used. Inspect previews and delivered variations where reporting allows it. Compare outcomes with a consistent event definition and attribution window.

Read the Google AI disclosure guide and use the testing framework. Platform information was reviewed September 15, 2026.
