TikTok AI-content disclosures for advertising

A synthetic product scene needs an honest publishing context. Review the current advertising rules and distinguish a generated performance from a minor visual edit.

Start with TikTok’s advertising policy

TikTok’s misleading and false content policy addresses significantly edited and AI-generated content. It calls for an AIGC label or a clear disclosure and distinguishes substantial synthetic changes from minor adjustments. It also addresses identity misuse.

Use the current policy and publishing controls for the actual format. Do not treat a routine brightness correction and a fully generated person as the same production event.

Keep disclosure visible and the story truthful

Review the final placement rather than only the editing timeline. Make sure interface elements, cropping, and captions do not hide an intended disclosure. Retain the source file and a note describing the synthetic elements.

A label does not make a false testimonial acceptable. Write a fictional presenter as a product introducer, and obtain appropriate permission when using a real face or voice.

Check the destination and any Shop connection

Confirm the SKU, price, discount conditions, and product claims. A generated scene should not show a different item from the destination. If the content is connected to TikTok Shop, review the additional Shop guidance.

Rules were checked September 15, 2026. Use the official policy at launch and get qualified advice when a campaign’s legal obligations are uncertain.
