Turn a vertical product video into a square ad

A square version needs its own framing decision. Center cropping can cut away the product or a hand demonstrating it.
Audit the source
Watch the vertical clip and note every moment the product approaches an edge. Measure whether the full item fits a square frame throughout.
Build a separate layout
Move captions into the square safe area and choose a wider composition where necessary. A blurred side fill can work for a draft, but check whether it distracts from the product.
Check the destination
Preview the square ad in the actual placement and confirm the same offer and variant remain legible.
A worked example
A vertical lamp scene might show a shade near the top and a base near the bottom. A center square crop can remove both. Recompose from the approved source image with more room around the lamp and put the copy beside it. Watch the full square export to confirm that the switch remains visible during the camera move.
Decision check
Keep the original product photo, approved facts, and intended placement beside the draft. Review the opening, the moment of movement or contact, and the final frame against the same SKU. If a visual claim cannot be verified, reduce the action or use the real photograph for that detail.
