Plan the creative
A shot style should earn its place by making one feature easier to see. Match the move to source views and the item’s physical behavior. When the camera reveals an undocumented surface, shorten the move or use an approved still.
Start with a sharp source and neutral lighting. Decide whether the output needs a pure backdrop or a soft contact shadow for depth.
A worked example
A white ceramic mug against an off-white field needs a subtle real contact shadow so its edge does not disappear. Keep the handle joint and glaze variation. A smooth cutout that changes the outline is worse than a slightly imperfect source photo.
A brief to adapt
Create a product-centered scene on a plain background. Preserve edges, surface finish, label, and relative proportions.

Check the result
Inspect cutouts and transparent areas. Do not smooth away real construction or change the item to make it look more symmetrical.
