The product advertising glossary
What is AOV?
Average order value is revenue divided by the number of orders over a stated period.
By Drizzle team
A practical example
$6,000 in revenue from 100 orders gives a $60 AOV.
How to use it
Specify whether revenue includes tax, shipping, discounts, and returns. Bundles may raise AOV while also raising fulfillment costs, so review contribution per order as well.
Put it in a creative brief
Write down the event, asset, or workflow you mean by AOV before sharing a brief or report. For campaign measurements, keep the source and reporting window with the number. For creative work, attach an example so the team can assess the same thing.
