Write product hooks that lead into a useful ad

A hook should make the right viewer curious about a promise the rest of the ad can fulfill. No opening line guarantees a conversion.

Open on a visible reason to care

For a bag with a hidden pocket, show the pocket opening. For a reversible garment, show the second side. For a size choice, place the two actual options together. The opening earns attention by revealing something relevant.

Pair the action with a short line that makes it easier to understand. Avoid adding a dramatic claim when the physical detail already supplies the reason to watch.

Keep the promise through the next shot

If the hook asks whether a laptop fits, the next shot should answer with the correct model and dimensions. If it introduces a fabric detail, show that detail clearly. An unrelated lifestyle montage breaks the connection.

Use genuine urgency only when stock or an offer deadline supports it. A generated character should not open with a fabricated personal transformation.

Test the opening without rewriting everything

Keep the product, offer, destination, and remaining explanation fixed while trying different openings. Track early attention, outbound clicks, and the purchase outcome together. A hook that raises views but lowers qualified traffic may need a more specific promise.

Build a few drafts with the hook generator, then adapt them to the footage you can actually produce. Record the idea behind each variation so the result teaches you more than which file happened to win.
